Hey guys... Can't believe that I'm pangsehing you guys almost everyday this week... No choice for me cos my band's meeting up almost everyday for discussions on what to play for Raffles Rock Concert. Seriously very very paiseh. Will try to make it up my being super enthu about Batch Give! Yay!

Yo Yongsheng! Err... Status Report for you. Me, Yu Sheng, Chin Heng and Jeremy helped protect your VIP on the way home yesterday. Mission was very successful! =) Haha... You should know who I'm talking about. Haha. ODAC ended the same time as guitar yesterday... Saw lots of ODAC friends! Yup.

It was a really sad day at my class cos poker cards were banned... No playing during lunch. Alternatively, lets bring UNO cards and play bridge, or bring Mahjong Cards! Yup. Just a suggestion... Otherwise, someone can bring a board game so that everyone can have fun in the mornings!

Seriously very very stressed out. Reaching home at about 9 pm or later almost everyday except for Thursdays. Thanks to guitar stuff and piano stuff and rock stuff. No time to do homework except very early in the mornings or during lunch breaks. Have a feeling that our new class pasttime will be doing homework in the canteen during lunch. Haha.

Hmmm... When's our OG outing? I'm dying to go out and play pool or go someone's house to play bridge or something. Haha. Looking forward to the outing! See ya guys on Thurs! Sorry for pangsehing so many times. Miss you guys so much!

hmmph.

I am quite offended. Mel thought all my poems were koped from somewhere. =( but at least that means she thinks its damn pro =).

Eh anyone here going for dramafeste? I realise I should learn to abuse power a bit more. Cos all my other RP friends all reserved a damn lot of tickets for friday for their friends, and I didn't reserve any. So wasted...

Narpal was damn ROCKING yesterday! ggg Narpal!!

Hey guys... Thanks for supporting the RJGE CIP if you came down and bought stuff from our stall. Our total earnings totalled up to... $511 dollars! Success! Yup. Hope the Handicapped Welfare Association can make use of the money though it isn't much.

Uh... Today we had a PE Lecture??? No idea where that came from. Haha. On goal making some more. Its quite weird to tell the truth, and I was looking forward to doing some running or pull-ups or something. They taught us to set goals for our NAPFA, and I guess thats kinda important. But I still feel that this kind of thing should be left to the Civics Tutors to do.

Last day of Student Development was kinda cool. I like the song Love Me. Haha. Trying to play it after seeing Jerry play it on the acoustic so beautifully. Wah. Actually not that difficult. Haha.

Watching American Idol now... Hmmm... Not as exciting as the previous few seasons. Well, its always the same thing over and over again. The only exciting thing is the new talent and seeing old songs being sung in a new way. It gives us inspiration for new arrangements of songs I guess. And its quite cool th rockers like Bo Bice and Constantine Maroulis can get to the finals.

Well... A few concert dates for you guys.

April 19th - RJGE concert
April 21st - Raffles Rock concert

If you can, please come down! Thanks.

in tandem.

Hello everyone again!

Uncle wang making his weekly rounds. Thanks everyone for the gifts! =) Our civics tutor delivered the bomb and told us that O2 might not happen if there are not enough new intakes. I shudder at the thought of that terrible prospect. I need a break after the first 6 weeks of school...

I feel like talking about linguistic nuances. The importance of linguistic nuances were made really clear to me over the past week or so. The choice of just 1 word can affect the meaning of an entire paragraph or even an entire passage. Words have a terrible power in them, and cliched as it may sound, writers, especially poets, and people generally need to learn to control this power. To demonstrate, I shall write a poem =)

(oh and its quite... [lack of a good word here]... sigh... i only posted it cos i love the way it ended. quite angsty right? nvm lah. i'm not usually like that =) its true!)

What a Valentine

Not a red rose or
chocolates.

I'll give you an
alternative.
It is an orange flower,
free from the bloodstains
that whisper
commitment.

Here it will caress you,
like a lover.
It will leave you empty,
unsatisfied till the last.

I am what I am.

I gave you an alternative.
Its orange petals will litter your bed,
lying and pleasing
forever.

Take it.
It's pretty petals spiral into the heart,
if you like.

Falsely.

It lies on your pillow,
lies to your heart.

Valentine's Day Announcement!

Haha. We're at the 100 mark!!! Yay. My BLOG's gonna hit the 200 mark soon, but thats like in over a year? Haha. And we've reached this mark only 1 and a half months in. Good job guys!

Announcement!

RJGE is selling balloons for Valentine's Day Eve and Valentine's Day itself. Each balloon costs $2, and two balloons cost $3.50. For an additional 50 cents, you can write a personal note and attach it to a ribbon to your balloon string (For good friends or your bf/gf), or you can ask for a delivery service to the person you have a crush on. (To remain anonymous) Markers will be provided for you guys to write on the balloon itself if you wanna write a message to your closest friends.

All proceeds go to HWA, a charity for wheelchair bound people. Heex, you know how it feels to be lame, so you'd better donate to these people. Haha. Glad to see you off your crutches! Yup! So do something meaningful for Valentine's Day, yet acknowledge the love you have for your friend or soulmate. Its like killing 2 birds with 1 stone! Yup. I know this CIP project is my way of loving the people out there in RJ and those in need as well. So hope you guys buy some balloons from us!

I'll bring a box of chocolates for everyone on tuesday! And for those who didn't get anything from their valentine. (Cos I get a bit hungry in the mornings anyways. Haha.) Have a good build up to Valentines Day!

100 posts!

Yay! I get the honour of making the 100th post on this blog! =) gogo everyone!

The only people who visit this place regularly or semi-regularly now are mandre, heex, ben, myself, and definitely darren the enthu ogl.

I honestly think my tutors rock. I got the coolest tutors for all my subjects, except for physics. which more then make up for a hugely boring class... Matthew Lyon is THE man. insightful and intelligent, i couldn't have asked for a better GP teacher. then the other teachers are all just generally nice, and quite cool also. except raufie. who's the only boring buy amongst everyone. Our CT is so hyper! she's like UEBER hyper! Too bad our class all PRC. Her enthusiasm is kinda killed off by the daoness of the class.

Suffered an injury doing some pyro trick. Lesson in life: humans tastes like chicken.

RJC life has been so blessed! I can't believe how lucky I am to be in the class that I am, to be in the CCA that I am, and no doubt to be in the OG that I am. The discourse is highly intelligent and entertaining, and everyone is so nice and helpful. Especially my debating friends. I don't think I have enjoyed any CCA more then I have debates. And it's not just the thrill of making a lot of noise and acting like a complete idiot on the floor. The haphazardness of impromptu preps, the friendly jabs we take at each other all the time, the ways in which we try to poke fun of everything around us, there is honestly not many moments in debates where one is not smiling or collapsing with laughter. Our coach is fantastic (best speaker in the world in his year).

=)

Whoa... Wah. Ben to the rescue! Its my turn to BLOG.

Uh... To tell the truth Monday and today weren't very nice days, all cos I'm having this crazy splitting headache that just went away. Not to mention my long CCA schedule. Although I know the council people probably have much more hectic schedules. So I shouldn't be complaining.

Today as I was on my way home from Raffles Rock jamming from the studio at Toa Payoh, and I was lucky enough to get stuck on the train that stopped for a whole 15 mins cos the train in front had some kind of trouble. That kinda summed up a miserable day. Haha.

Haha. I could go on stating negative stuff, but I'll look on the bright side! Raffles Rock concert to celebrate RJC's 25th year is on the 21st of April. 6 bands will be performing, 3 external, and 3 from RJ, including mine and Guoren's band. It may include the winners of RGS talentime as well. So its gonna be a super exciting day! May have Zhen or Electrico or Ronin or some other Singaporean bands to come down for an awesome night of music so you guys have to come! Yup.

Bio lecturer and Chem lecture have gone a bit nuts. Haha. Both of them are seriously kinda funny in a weird kind of way. Attending their lectures are really a time to wind down and relax. For bio, its just copy copy copy. And for chem, hearing lame stuff kinda brightens my day. No offense Heex. Haha.

Went for my first main ensemble practice without a guitar, so borrowed an acoustic from the guitar room on teh 4th floor. Whenever I made a mistake it was like super obvious I screwed up. But what was more interesting was when I played super well. Whenever I played a tough running passage as if it were just a piece of cake, a J2 would turn around and stare at me. It was kinda freaky. Haha. Especially during Antonio Vivaldi's Spring's slurring passage. Haha. That kinda brightened up my day. Yup.

So these few days weren't that bad at all! Just one thing before I finish. Happy super belated birthday to Ann. Haha. See ya guys on Thursday at the OG table. I'll be going for prayer on Wednesday so won't be seeing you guys. Yup. Have a nice day tomorrow!!!

Heya guys! Hmmm... I think 10th Feb sounds good. Cos me and Guoren haven't confirmed whether we'd be free on the 3rd. We have Raffles Rock meeting, the time I'm not sure of, and we may have auds for talentime or something. So I think 10th would be better!

Haha. Well, time to tell you guys about my new year. Spent most of it with my dad's side relatives in Jurong, only went to visit my mom's side for a day, cos they stay all the way at Tampines. Played lots of games at my grandma's house including Mahjong and a card game called Jim Rummy. Hmmm... In total I lost $4 bucks, but well it was fun.

Warning. Do not gamble Mahjong with me. I won about $8 bucks on Mahjong, but went on to lose about $12 at Jim Rummy. Haha. Too bad. Jim Rummy is super tough, cos its played with 3-4 decks + the jokers shuffled together and you either lose big or win big. In this case I lost big. I can teach you guys if you wanna try playing. I'll write down the basic rules for all those card enthusiasts out there who want to try! Its a super multiplayer game so everyone can play!

1. Give out an odd number of cards to each person, either 13 or 15
2. Open up the next card after finishing distribution
3. Person to the right of the dealer starts
4. The aim of the game is to throw one card and either draw or exchange a card (Just like Bloody Knuckles)
5. But you have to form 4 consecutive cards or more instead. Example: 3, 4, 5, 6 of same suit
6. Thats called a 'passport'
7. Once you have a passport you use one of your turns to place it on the floor.
8. After that you can form either 3 or more consecutive cards of the same suit, or 3 or more of the same card of different suits
9. The first person to finish his/her hand wins
10. Joker is any card you want, but if you want to make a passport with it, you have to have 5 instead of 4 consecutive cards
11. Theres a special case in which all your cards are either totally black or red. In that case, you win immediately
12. Another special case is when all the cards you have form passports, and nobody else has placed their cards on the floor. You win immediately too. Haha.

I know it sounds kinda hard, but I'll explain if you guys want me to. Maybe it'll be our new OG game! Haha. Some rules about paying money... But of course we won't play with money right? Haha. Just for some info...

1. When someone completes his/her hand, everyone else counts their points
2. 10, J, Q, K are all worth 10, the numbers are worth their values and Jokers are worth 20 points
3. Each person pays the difference between himself and the points of another person
4. For example, you get 60 points, I get 10 points. You pay me 50 cents! Yay.

Yup thats all. Have fun playing! I sound like a compulsive gambler now. Haha.
